Our online conference was a trout-standing success! Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, supported, and sponsored this conference. It was wonderful to bring together so many passionate people to share ideas, learn and plan for the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021 – 2030).

Thank you to the Northwest Aquatic and Marine Educators for being wonderful co-hosts! Even though this wasn’t the conference that we had originally had in mind, together we provided an online platform for ocean literacy and education.

Look for the next CaNOE conference in 2023!

Educators, researchers, students, and resource professionals who attended the 2021 NAME/CaNOE virtual conference:

    • Identified and understood issues related to local marine and aquatic species
    • Learned about current research and policy initiatives
    • Addressed challenges and opportunities arising from BC’s new concept-based and competency-driven curriculum
